Re: My LION COAT. Friend of ours - Carol and Don Miller and their three children all graduated from Penn State. On a visit here Carol and Don (who live in State College now) saw my Lion Coat and heard me wonder what I would be able to do with it. They offered to contact people at Penn State to see who might be interested. All contacted wanted it. We finally zeroed it down to the ARCHIVES who seemed the best choice.

So Kippy, their daughter, came by, picked up the coat and took it to State College. Carol and Don delivered it to the ARCHIVES.

ARCHIVES promptly secured a mannequin, put the coat on it and put it on display in the lobby area just inside the main entrance of the Paterno Library. It was there for something like four or five months. They than took it down and put it into Climate Free Storage - or whatever the description of the place is.

It is my understanding that it will remain there until they decide to make it a part of a "roving display" which will put it on display in various building around the campus.

They change these "roving displays" periodically so more people have an opportunity to view them. And they have a lot of items that they can put on display.

All this is complicated but the COAT is in good hands and I am happy for the way things have worked out.

At this moment the BLUE-WHITE Spring football game is being played. Thousands and thousands will cheer - WE ARE - PENN STATE!!!!!!

Yes, by all means, stop at the Berkey Creamery on the campus. It has more than ice cream. Many, many, many different cheeses. Mrs. Berkey was a Penn State graduate in Dairy Husbandry. Mr. Berkey studied Dairy Husbandry elsewhere. They hit it BIG and made lots of money. Mr. Berkey passed away some time ago. Mrs. Berkey just recently passed away. They, of course, donated the money which built the present Creamery building.

A few years ago, Colonel and Sara would travel to Florida to avoid the winters of the north. I corresponded with him via snail mail, and occasionally got postcards as well. Sometimes the postcards were mailed, sometimes they were included in an envelope with a letter. Then that expanded to postcards from other travels as well. I recently found these post cards and will put them up on the blog over the next few days! Enjoy!
